Canadian Universal Healthcare Should Include Dental Care!

Oral health is not a luxury!

Why are essential health benefits like dental services excluded from Canada's universal healthcare system?

Sign if you think all Canadians should have access to universal dental care!

One in three Canadians lack dental insurance, and another one in five avoid the dentist entirely due to cost.  As a result of our health-care system's oversight, too many Canadians end up relying on emergency departments for dental care.

Poor oral health can result in other serious medical conditions. Prevention is the best way to keep Canadians healthy, and to reduce long-term costs to our health-care system.

The Canada Health Act begins with a strong statement about the purpose of federal health-care policy. The Act's primary objective is: "to protect, promote and restore the physical and mental well-being of residents of Canada and to facilitate reasonable access to health services without financial or other barriers."

Physical well-being is not possible without good oral health. Canadians experience significant financial barriers preventing access to dental services. Sign now to demand essential dental care for all Canadians!
