Military Veteran seeking to have Parental Rights restored

My name is Cheryl and I am a 15 year military veteran with a beautiful 12 year old daughter. My life has been about my career and my family until in 2021 my life completly shifted for the worst. After the military i faced some addiction issues due to Ptsd and the war. In 2018 i got clean and maintained my sobriety on subutex. My child was my focus. But in 2021 my husband and childs father passed away from an overdose. I choose to seperate from him prior for me and my childs sake. When he passed within one month child services took my child from me. She was 9 years old at the time, i was a single mother with no help. I had ran to a local convienant not even . 3 miles away from my home and left my child in bed with the dog because she wasnt well. I was gone 2 minutes and as i was pulling onto my street a cop pulls me over and says i made a left turn too sharp. The cop asks me if i had taken medication and i told him my prescription and he arrested me. In the state of wv you can get a dui for driving on your medication. At that moment i freaked out and asked to call my mom because my child was at home alone. From there child services removed my child from her home and i have been fighting since. I have never missed a visit, all clean urines, and my child and i have a wonderful relationship. Absolutely no neglect and abuse. During my probation period with dhhr, I had been working and got pulled pver again. The cop searched me and found my medication in my vehicle and arrested me and said it looked like another substance. Which the case was dismissed after the subatance was tested at the lab determined it was medication. I went to rehab and got completly off of subutex at this point to get my child back. I go to my hearing and my rights are terminanted completly shattered my world and my daughters world. We have been fighting to want to be together ever since. My daughter has emotional been thru enough trauma with the lost of her father but with cps taking her away from her home. School friends and family and mother.. i am the only person she has in this world. Im not perfect but i will do anything for my child.i have made an appeal to the supreme court to have my case overturned and have my rights restored. I am sober and continue to pray for my child to retuen home everyday. I feel the justice system treated me unfairly and did not give me a choice to prove my worth. Im asking for your support to help me as a military veteran who gave 15 years of my life to this country get my child back. All i want to do is enjoy my life with my child. My freedom that i fought for. But it has been an endless battle since. Cps and the public defender failed me and failed my child. Yes i may have failed as well but the system needs to change and reunite families not seperate them. I would like this petition to help with passing a law for reunification and restoration not termination not only for me and my daughter but for others as well
