Pressure Peterborough Council to change their archaic rules and save a little girl's pony.

Peterborough is a small country town in the mid north of South Australia.

A single mum with her children moved to Peterborough some years ago for the country life and the little girl Marlia has a pony. They also have two baby goats.

Recently, the council changed their rules to ban grass eating animals within the council's town boundry. This family's 2 acre property is on one side of the road inside the council's town boundry and the other side of the road is outside the town boundry. The family's 2 acre property backs on to farm land. Now the council has dictated that these people have to get rid of their grass eatiing animals.

Today Tonight (a current affair program) ran a segment on this last night. It can be viewed on Channel 7 Adelaide Today Tonight - http://www.todaytonightadelaide.com.au/stories/animal-ban.

The Mayor of Peterborough stated on camera that Burnside and Toorak Gardens did not allow grass eating animals so why should Peterborough? Well maybe she didn't notice but Burnside and Toorak Gardens are elite suburbs of Adelaide and Peterborough is a remote country town. How can she possibly compare them?

The Mayor also stated the the rules were black and white and could not be changed.

Please sign this petition to ensure that the council obtain some common sense and change this archaic rule.
