Hello 馃憢,
Suman is a young elephant 馃悩 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India 馃嚠馃嚦. She was born to Moonlight Circus which, if I'm right, was shut down due to allegations of animal abuse. She was then used for a TV Show, which was also shut down due to allegations of animal abuse. She has since been sold to a man who is known to be Jaipur's cruellest elephant "owner", a man who has been known to hit an elephant 馃悩 with a hatchet.
Suman is kept mostly alone, chained up in darkness, likely being beaten. Elephants used for riding are put through a process known as "phajaan" or "breaking of the spirit", in order to make them submissive to humans so that they can be controlled and used for riding. This involves beating the elephants and keeping them in isolation.
Suman's parents are both in captivity, probably being exploited and abused. Suman's mother Chanda is forced to carry tourists around the hot 馃サ streets of Jaipur, her feet burning. She has also had babies stolen from her. Suman's father, Bijili, is also in captivity. Meanwhile, Suman's older sister Peanut is in the good hands of Wildlife SOS.
Please, please, please, please do whatever you can (ethically, whilst still looking after yourselves and within reason) to help get Suman rescued and her family reunited!!!!
