For a few years now the River Road Park has been in limbo. Do two out-of-towners coming in and trashing it, camping out, and taking over the property the citizens of Southbury have had enough. We feel we cannot use the park and I have timers are still coming in. We get mixed answers when we have asked what is going on with the park. Some committee members say the park is " a open space" for right now and other committee members say the park is permanently closed. Southbury citizens in the area still see people coming in and out of the park, and trashing the. We the citizens of Southbury would like to see action taken at the River Road Park. Whether it be to close the park entirely or to actually fund the park and make it usable for Southbury residents only like it used to be. We would prefer to have it reopened and able to take our family's to other then going to the town pool. We need as many signatures as possible from the town of Southbury to help motivate the committee on moving forward with the plans for River Road Park. There will be a meeting held on July 19th and we hope to have as many signatures as possible to present to the committee at that time. Help us bring life back to our beach!
