Bring Criminal Charges against the "Treason Texting" Congressmembers

In a treasure trove of texts following the 2020 election, just obtained by Talking Points Memo, we can see with our own eyes a coup playing out in real time. Members of Congress, openly calling for the overturning of a democratic election — and even for Trump to impose martial law.

The texts come from Trump White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and include exchanges with at least 34 members of Congress. Many go well beyond the usual chest-thumping idiocy, and cross into outright criminal territory.

Which is why we need to demand that criminal charges be brought against the treason texters who broke the law.

These weren't just emails from your crazy uncle, they were elected officials actively plotting to subvert our democracy — by force if necessary. And if we don't take action now, they'll surely try again, and maybe succeed.
