Make Mindfulness Mandatory

    Mental health is discussed more and more frequently in adolescents and adults but it needs to be addressed to young children so they can start to understand the capabilities of their on minds from a young age. I know if I was taught about my own mind in an engaging and proactive way whilst I was at primary school and secondary school I wouldn't have experience the very difficult and overwhelming reality of what uncontrolled mental health can lead to. The Mindful Movement is a project that is currently in development to make mindfulness a mandatory practice in education. This includes the study of mindfulness so it is understood from a young age, methods of mindful behaviour and coping mechanisms with mental health to ensure a better quality of learning so pupils are able to reach their full potential to the best of their ability with a happy brain. The specific aims for the project include the following;
    - Morning time meditation/yoga related class before full day of learning
    - At least one lesson a week in understanding and learning about mental health by doing engaging activities
    - Continually learning varied coping mechanisms about feelings and emotions
    - Breaking down the stigma for adults and children about mental health to give them a head start if they ever experience depression or anxiety.
    In conclusion to this very worthy project I will need at least 1,000 signatures so it can reach a platform where people of a higher authority than myself can review and accelerate its position in society.
