Dear Minister
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter in regards to the issue of animal experimentation. I appreciate and respect that you are a very busy man. I am taking this opportunity to raise the issue of Vivesection and other equally horrendous practices that are carried out on numerous laboratory animals each year.
I and many others in our community would like to see these practices come to an end.
I would like to call on you for support on this matter, because it is only when people of your authority take action that something can be done about this.
1) The reason I want this stopped: Because nobody would want this to happen to them.
2) These experiments are totally unnecessary as the research institutions involved already have all the information they need in order to treat diseases and any other human condition or trauma. There is no reason to keep repeating these same experiments.
3) The practice of Vivisection and other equally horrific experiments, allow a society to become depraved and uncaring. Health and Well being cannot arise under these circumstances.
4) There are numerous research papers and other documented evidence from extremely qualified people, that clearly shows the futility of these experiments, and they also offer real solutions to the health crisis. Some of these research papers, books and articles are on the websites of many animal rights activists groups. An example being Humane Research Australia which has many research articles that clearly show how disgusting and unnecessary these experiments are. One great example is a book called:
They all had eyes: Confessions of a Vivisectionist. This is very informative and everyone should read this.
THE SOLUTIONS TO END THESE PRACTICES ARE SIMPLE
Refuse to fund, endorse, or work for any institution that is involved in these types of practices. This is the only way to put a stop to this nightmare. Stop all funding to the National Health and Medical Research Council as they provide funds to many institutions who are carrying out these experiments.
Our Health System needs to go back to basics. We need more trauma and emergency facilities and staff available, rather than this huge funding that goes into cruel animal experiments that do not benefit mankind at all. This is wasted research. This is a waste of hard working tax payers money.
Please speak to, write to, and petition as many ministers, government personnel and all the medical research facilities and universities who are involved in conducting or endorsing these practices, and ask them to stop this.
