Stop The Cruel Dog and Cat Meat Trade In South Korea

Every year, millions of dogs and thousands of cats are tortured and consumed in South Korea.

The practice of killing and consuming dogs and cats, whether for food or so-called "health tonics," is not part of some long-standing cultural tradition. In fact, most South Koreans find the cruelty and killing appalling. Yet it continues.

The dogs and cats suffer their whole lives. They are kept in cramped, dirty cages with only enough food to survive until they are shipped to market where they are cruelly slaughtered.

Dear Ambassador Young-Jin Choi

We the undersigned are writing to aske that South Korea prevent the animal cruelty that is carried out on dog and cat meat farms by banning the dog and cat meat industry.

Each year millions of dogs and thousands of cats are kept malnourished in small cramped cages until they are ready to go to market where they are cruelly slaughtered.

Even though South Korea has established an Animal Protection Law, these dogs and cats are treated abominably by farmers and slaughterhouses.

Most South Korean citizens appall the idea of consuming companion animals, but myths keep the industry alive.

We urge you to help change these absurd myths, outlaw dog and cat farms and punish  those who cruelly treat these innocent animals.

Thank you for your time and consideration of banning dog and cat farms.
