The Barry R. Kirshner Wildlife Foundation was started in 1994 by Barry Kirshner. A year later, he was killed in a car accident. Roberta Kirshner left her high paying job in Canada, to work for free to achieve her son's dream. The Kirshner Foundation is a special needs facility, with over 75% of our animals having some sort of health problem. We are the only foundation of our kind in Northern California. Unfortunately, the foundation is having a hard time staying at the place we are currently located. A few nieghbors have a problem with us, and the county has placed such strict regulations on us that it is hard to expand our facility. This animal sanctuary is essential to Butte County, and we need your help. Our neighbors have taken extreme efforts to try and shut us down, and now they could succeed.
