STOP HAZARDOUS CHANGES TO THE PARK LAWN PED PATH

We, the community surrounding Park Lawn Park, were told that our soon-to-be-constructed Pedestrian Pathway would be a welcoming green space, bordered with trees, lights and seating areas. The plan was recently changed, without our consultation. Now the City is going to install a 5 foot high and 250 foot long chain-link fence along the north side of the path, effectively bisecting a much-used community playground.

A chain-link fence presents a huge safety hazard for our children, a site for litter to collect, a dividing “wall” in our park and school playground area, and a visible sore spot to what was going to be a beautiful walkway.

The pathway is meant to link our community, not divide it!

The City plans to begin construction as soon as the school year ends. How can they alter an approved, agreed-upon plan so drastically without public consultation?

Please help stop this plan from going ahead – sign the online petition right now!

Dear Councillors,

We have made significant progress in our petition signatures over a SINGLE DAY. We wanted to make you aware that the community is serious about their opposition to the changes for the Park Lawn Pedestrian Path.

Sincerely,

The Park Lawn Revitalization Committee

Park Lawn School Advisory Council
