Georgia Teacher: Apologize for Comparing Homosexuality to Pedophilia

Tanya Ditty is the state director of Concerned Women for America of Georgia and a teacher at East Cobb Middle School (although it's unclear if she's still working there as she was removed from the website).

She spoke against a bill that would prohibit discrimination against LGBT state employees, including those that work at public schools.

During a hearing on the bill, she compared homosexuality to pedophilia, necrophilia, and zoophilia. She said this law would protect pedophiles and public schools wouldn't be safe.

It goes without saying, but it is incredibly offensive and ignorant to compare any of that to homosexuality, a sexual identity that involves two consenting adults that happen to be of the same sex instead of opposite.

Tell Tanya Ditty to recant her statements, apologize, and recognize that what she said isn't only wrong, but is hurtful, and she is standing on the wrong side of history.

Please apologize and recant your statements that compared homosexuality to pedophilia. Not only is this wrong, and ignorant, but it is also hurtful and offensive. Pedophilia has nothing to do with homosexuality -- one is an adult and an unconsenting, abused child, and the other is two consenting adults who are of the same sex instead of the opposite.

Please do not be on the wrong side of history. Do not continue to hate, discriminate, and fight against giving people equal rights.

We will all be looking forward to your apology.
