Stop Euthanization of Adoptable Animals in Maryland

PLEASE, EVEN IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN MARYLAND, SIGN THIS PETITION, YOUR STATE COULD BE NEXT! Each year millions of adoptable animals are euthanized at shelters. Those who has perfectly healthy and could be found home. Recently my family experienced how awful it is. My family takes in strays all of the time. We have sort of a bleeding heart for animals. We took in a kitten, who we soon found out was having kittens. Unfortunatly because of our other strays we could not keep them. So we took them to the Allegany County Shelter. Thinking that they would have a chance at a good life. We had fallen in love with the mother cat; who we called Jily; but we couldn't keep her. After we had dropped them we were all broken hearted. My mother had even broke down in tears in the shelter and the people there showed absolutely no compassion. It was a job to them, not a passion like it is for us. We came home that evening and felt terrible. It didn't seem right without her. So we called the shelter, and asked if we could pay to get Jily back. They informed us that they had euthinized the cat and kittens not even an hour after we had dropped them off. They had not even had a chance. They hadn't even looked at them. Just gave them a shot, and went to lunch. If they would have told us that they would have been euthanized without even given a chance, we would have packed them right up and marched out of the building. Needless to say our entire family was furious. And letters to the newspaper have been written. They call themselves a humane society but there was certainly nothing humane about it. In California there is a law against euthanizing animals that can be treated or adopted, and that is what I am trying to accomplish with this petition PLEASE EVEN IF YOU DO NOT LIVE IN MARYLAND, SIGN THIS PETITION. If it gets picked up here, then i promise your state is next and i will do anything i can to help you achieve that. So spread the word. Please help us out.
