Many citizens in Toronto and Ontario, Canada, and a cadre of socially progressive-minded politicians are seeking policing budget overhauls and accountability reforms through a myriad of recent grassroots activities.

Among the most ideal methods of getting rid of Toronto's bloated Police Budget and the imbalanced power of the Police union intimidating most of City Hall's politicians, is through exploring a petitioned class action option focused directly on repealing and amending

PART IV
MUNICIPAL POLICING AND POLICE SERVICE BOARDS

The general population is largely misinformed about the police budget. They are unaware the City of Toronto overspends on the budget - ie, 40 % more than than the annual Montreal Police budget - operating with almost a similar sized police force and particularly with very high police salaries. Thus, policing is career-oriented/ high-salary inclined, as opposed to professional civic duty and service-principled.

With enough petition signatures from the ground-swell of local support FOR police budget cuts, the exploration of progress through a popular class-action court process can influence a decisive and historic progressive policing initiative making overdue changes to the corrupt system of police-spending excesses now in place.
