Oppose further residential development in the Chittum Elementary School district

    To: The Chesapeake City Council
Chittum Elementary School is over crowed. The current student population was 783 (as of April 2018), which makes the school capacity at 120%. There are plans to develop more housing in the Chittum school district. Specifically, Gray's Point at the intersection of Charlton Drive and Willow Lake Road. Gray's Point would add 50 houses, which the developer projects an additional 10 children from this development that would attend Chittum Elementary, which is unrealistic. Our priority is the growth and development of our children not the developing of more houses, until the construction of a new Chittum Elementary School is completed.

We the undersigned, are opposed to the development of Gray's Point and any addition housing developments in the Chittum Elementary School district until the issue of over crowing is resolved by completing the construction of a new Chittum Elementary School.
