On January 26th 2013 my fiance's father passed away and left us his beautiful mobile home. We have been paying rent on the Edwards (Cindy Gerke and her daughter now own Edwards as per edwards will) lot it sits on ever since and had to wait until we had the title transfer done to be able to apply for residency on the lot. We wound up being denied due to what they say is "poor criminal history" which from what I understand and have been advised by a lawyer is against the Fair Housing Act. If you were to view their rental history they have rented to people with MUCH greater criminal history than my fiance or myself. They also claim we have poor credit history but never actually fulfilled their end of the application by getting a letter to our landlord for reference.
We are starting this petition because we have been waiting to move into our paid for and owned mobile home and they won't allow us to live in it because it resides on their lot and "We're not goode enough" to live there. The mobile home was left to us by my fiance's father so we could live a good quality and affordable life, so we could finally start a family and all of our dreams are being crushed. If they don't want us to live there we want them to pay to move it off their lot and leave us alone as they also are trying to tie this up for as long as they can so they can take my fiances inheritance too.
