Inside a home in Georgetown County, South Carolina, more than 250 dogs were living in filth, sickness, and fear. When rescuers finally got inside, they found 123 dogs still alive and 125 more tragically dead, some of their bodies hidden in trash bags and even inside the walls of the house. These dogs deserved safety, food, and care. Instead, they were left to suffer for years inside a home that should have been a refuge. A lifetime ownership ban isn't about punishing what already happened. It's about making sure no other dog, cat, or animal is ever trapped in conditions like this again.

Sign the petition now to demand a lifetime ban on animal ownership and mandatory mental health counseling for the couple responsible.

Officials say the abuse had been going on since at least 2019. Neighbors called for help more than once, and at least one welfare check was done at the home, but the suffering continued for years. Investigators described the air inside as barely breathable and the home packed with kennels and waste. Nearly 10 of the surviving dogs had to be euthanized because their suffering was too severe to reverse.

Mandatory mental health counseling matters just as much. Neglect on this scale doesn't come out of nowhere, and locking someone up without addressing what allowed this to happen for years only raises the risk that it happens again. Real accountability means dealing with the root of the problem, not just the aftermath.

Sign now to demand a lifetime ban on animal ownership and mandatory mental health counseling, so the next vulnerable animal never ends up trapped and forgotten like these dogs were.
