Demand Wildlife Crossings To Protect Critically Endangered Wildlife

Rampant development is eating away at critical wildlife habitat and corridors. This reckless behavior is accelerating the loss of already critically endangered animals like the California mountain lion.

This poor mountain lion was slammed into by a motorist, unable to come to safe stop in time on the highway. They were left to die a painful, terrifying death in the middle of the highway, laying on the concrete as they succumb to fatal injuries.

Could this have been prevented? Absolutely.

Will this happen again? Yes, however…

These deaths can be prevented if we demand for more wildlife crossings – particularly over busy highways – all over the state of California, then perhaps we can prevent more wildlife deaths from happening. Scientists have an abundance of research that shows the primary routes traveled by mountain lions and other wildlife through their tracking research. Wildlife crossings a proven to be a low cost, highly effective, way to prevent collisions that kill threatened wildlife and also put hundreds of human lives at risk.

We demand that Governor Newsom require the immediate installation of new wildlife crossings wherever necessary to reduce fatal wildlife collisions.
