In Alabama, three people were allegedly holding
191 dogs in grotesque captivity - with most dogs being 'stored' like old relics in the basement.
Sign the petition to demand justice for these dogs!Authorities said that the vast majority of the 191 dogs were kept in crates in the basement, where they were stacked on top of each other. The smell and the visuals were overwhelming. Many of the animals lacked access to any kind of food or water.
The people had acquired such an unbelievable number of dogs that it took officials a full 2 days to finish removing all the animals from the property.
Since then, all three have been arrested and charged with animal cruelty. Authorities have also begun an investigation into how they were treating the animals. For example, they have been interviewing veterinarians and collecting medical records for the animals to see if they were ever properly cared for.
These poor dogs just wanted to be loved and held and cuddled and treated like family. Instead, they were treated like storage boxes and simply piled on top of each other in a basement.
