Attorney General Frosh---Help the Puppies---Enforce Maryland's Puppy-Mill Act

In January 2020 the "No More Puppy-Mill Pups Act" (the "Act" or "Puppy-Mill Act"), Md. Code (2015 Repl. Vol, 2019 Supp.), § 19-701 et seq., of the Business Regulation Article ("Bus. Reg.") took effect in the State of Maryland. Among other things, this law banned retail establishments from selling cats and/or dogs. Unfortunately, a handful of businesses in Maryland have decided to ignore the new law, and they continue to sell cats and/or dogs. The Attorney General's Office for the State of Maryland is responsible for the enforcement of the "Puppy-Mill Act". While the Attorney General's Office is not confirming or denying whether investigations are underway, it is believed that at a minimum, the office is considering opening investigations into the retails stores which are currently violating the law.

Please sign this petition to encourage the Attorney General to kindly move quickly and ensure that the law banning the sale of cats and/or dogs in Maryland is followed and that any animals currently for sale in establishments violating the law be rescued and adopted into loving homes (we want to ensure they are safe and that they are not euthanized).

In addition to signing this petition, you may email the Attorney General at info@brianfrosh.com or file an official consumer complaint with the Attorney General, the Honorable Brian Frosh, at https://www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov/ if you have seen one of the stores in Maryland in violation of the law.

Mr. Frosh, please ensure the law is upheld.
