Tell Lowe's to Stop Killing Birds in Their Lawn & Garden Department!

Lowe's stores are killing birds who have "tresspassed" into their outdoor enclosures. Please help me stop this cruel practice of using Orkin traps on these poor birds.

During a recent trip to our local Lowe's Lawn & Garden department in Lowell, MA, I heard frantic chirping as I walked down the grass seed aisle. As I looked at the stock ladder, I saw a finch stuck to a industrial-strength glue trap.

The finch was flapping its only available wing, desperately attempting to fly away. The other wing was glued to the trap, making it impossible for the bird to fly. As I stood there, I noticed that there were at least two other trapped birds in the area. The bird closest to me eventually flapped its wing so hard, that he fell off of the ladder and landed face first on the ground. As the bird lay there, I went to take a picture and while I was doing that, I was approached by a store supervisor who yelled at me for taking a picture of their inhumane treatment of innocent birds.

I was told that the practice was the result of the birds eating the grass seed that they sell in the outdoor area. There is absolutely no reason that Lowe's couldn't move the seed inside the store and stop the needless killing of harmless birds.

Please sign this petition to urge Lowe's to change this practice and stop killing birds in their outdoor area!

Dear Robert Niblock,

Please change your company's practice and stop killing birds in your outdoor area.
