Get rid of common core math

I am 59 years old with adopted child and grandkids in school doing common core math, why did this crap have to start ?what's wrong with the math I was taught, this is aggravating to parents, and grandparents raising grandkids.
We live in Louisiana where this has been a problem from start, we can't afford to pay for tutors for something we don't understand, I know I don't understand what is heaviest an apple or an orange in a scale, looking on paper which one weighs more ? 
Come on people let's get our times table back with our addition, subtraction etc to what we can understand, rather than have our kids fail because grandma and grandpa, mom or dad and teachers having to learn this crap time to put our kids education back to what we know and not having to whip kids to make them do something they can't do 😡😡😡😡😡
