With the end of the emergency safety net put in during the COVID-19 pandemic, 15 million people — fifteen MILLION people — are set to be kicked off of Medicaid and lose their health insurance thanks to a provision slipped in a funding bill back in December.
As usual with anything in America, the losses will hit minority communities the hardest. About 30% of those who could lose Medicaid coverage are Hispanic, and 15% are Black. At the same time, more than 5 million children and 4.7 million adults ages 18 to 34 may get kicked off Medicaid, according to HHS.

It is absurd and inhumane that our government would rather spend millions of dollars and thousands of hours figuring out which people should be denied healthcare than to just give them the care that they need.
Countless people are going to suffer and possibly even die without their health insurance, plain and simple. It is our government's duty to provide for the American people — it's time for Congress to take action and stop this cruel madness before it's too late
