WHY IS THERE NO INQUIRY INTO CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN SCOTLAND?

  • al: Lorna Fulford

There is no response from the Scottish Authorities in relation to an Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, current or historical.

Public Perception in Scotland is that the Westminster Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse covers the whole of the United Kingdom, which at the present time includes Scotland. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

What reason do the SNP have for blocking such an Inquiry?

ADDED 5TH OCTOBER 2014;  TODAY, POLICE SCOTLAND HAVE ANNOUNCED A TASK FORCE WILL BE LAUNCHED TO LOOK INTO ONGOING CHILD SEX ABUSE IN SCOTLAND. WE WELCOME THE ACTION TO EXAMINE THE CURRENT SITUATION, BUT IS THIS ALSO A REFUSAL TO THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATE HISTORICAL CHILD SEX ABUSE?

Nicola Sturgeon is the now First Minister of Scotland

There is discussion of the possibility of a Child Sex Abuse Inquiry in Scotland, with the promise of a decision by Christmas.

The pressure has to be kept up, so as to avoid a long drawn out affair as with the Westminster CSA Inquiry, first announced on 7th July 2014,over 21 weeks ago.
