Compensation for Educational Textbooks

    To Whom It May Concern,
On behalf of the students enrolled in the Anatomy and Physiology I class, I would like to bring to your attention a current issue at Reading Area Community College. Over half of the enrolled students in this course have yet to receive multiple components for their required course texts to which they have already paid for. We are now five weeks into the semester and we have not received any word on when our materials will be made available. The materials are required for the course, and the fact that the students do not have these materials is inhibiting our quality of learning in the course. We are using our own ink, either at home or with the RACC lab fee to print several pages at once. These are copies of what we already paid for in our lab manuals and text books. Being that we are well into the semester, the lack of having our required and paid for course material is taking time away from our learning. We have paid for our class time and materials and it is expected from our institution to be able to provide the tools necessary to learn.
The students experiencing this issue expect justice. We are, in majority, second level health science majors who take our learning very seriously. Not having access to all required course material is impacting our learning, and we would like to see some sort of compensation on this matter. We paid over $300 each for the course material and because we have not yet received the appropriate materials, we ask for financial compensation since we are already being limited to the learning availably we paid for with college tuition, on top of the lab fees and course books. Financial compensation would allow for the students to retrieve extra learning materials needed to succeed in our course in the absence of our course material.
From all of the students enrolled in the Anatomy & Physiology 1 course here at RACC we look forward to hearing back from you on this matter and your decision on how our learning and financial output will be compensated. We are students striving to succeed in learning and have chosen Reading Area Community College to fulfill this for us. We are counting on you for your support!
    Kindly,
