For the past few months at PHS, students have been rushing to their cars to get out of the school before the buses cut off traffic to let themselves out. This is not only an inconvenience, but it's a severe annoyance.. Not only that, but obstructing traffic is illegal.
People who have tried to take action by blocking them have had the police called for -wait for it- "OBSTRUCTING TRAFFIC". How can they get away with doing this every day and then call the cops on others for doing the exact same thing that they do? Why do they never get punished?
And it's not just blocking traffic:
Buses have also been leaving far before they are supposed to. At PHS, we are always told that the buses leave at 3:30pm. However, for the past few months the buses have been leaving from anywere from 3:20-3:25pm. Jr.High and High school students both are released at 3:15pm from classes, and are lucky if they can make it out of the building by 3:20pm.
If you call Riteway busing, they will insist that Portage schools are let out by 2:55pm. Not only is this blatantly untrue, but they refuse to believe you if you tell them otherwise.
