Three way street with two separate schools and no traffic lights this needs to stop now!!

There are two schools on opposite sides of the street, kids are crossing back and forth and its only controlled by two stop signs, I have lived in this area for almost 40 years and I've seen many kids and adults almost get hit by cars that don't stop or just slow down at these stop signs and this has to stop. We have had several crossing cgards and they are very fearful because they almost get hit by cars, get verbally abused by drivers that are told to wait while school busses and parents are dropping children off.
