Animal lovers all over the world have long contested animal testing in the cosmetics industry. After decades of lobbying by animal rights groups, an animal testing ban for cosmetics in the European Union (EU) has been approved. Beginning on March 11, 2013, countries within the EU will ban the import and export of animal-tested cosmetics. Thank the EU for implementing this cruelty-free pledge and setting an example for other nations.
