Zimbabwe Banned Coal Mining In Its National Parks, We Demand All Countries Do The Same!

Zimbabwe leads the way! By banning mining in national parks, endangered species are kept safe and healthy. The ban was put in place to prevent ecological degradation of these beautiful parks.

Coal mining is among the most destructive mining in the world, poisoning water supplies and destroying forests and other critical habitats.

But more importantly, it protects the habitats of many endangered species from being destroyed, such as the 40,000 beautiful elephants that live in Hwange National Park; the same park where mining has just been banned.

Although mining may be important for economic and societal growth, so is the preservation of the species that live among us. Mining for raw materials undermines this preservation massively.

We demand that more governments follow Zimbabwe and take major action to end mining in national parks.
