We the students of Forest Lake Academy are calling for Mrs. Lina Ortiz to teach the Spanish 2 class for the 2026-2027 school year.
Over the 2025-2026 school year, we have gotten to know Mrs. Ortiz, and she has gotten to know us. Both sides have worked hard to learn each other's learning and teaching styles, finding success in all aspects. The class has a strong rapport between students and the teacher. And through the last year, the memories the students have made will be treasured forever. In Mrs. Ortiz's class we have excelled and flourished during the 2025-2026 school year.
Mrs. Ortiz is a proficient Spanish teacher with firsthand knowledge of the language and culture. Above all, she cares deeply about her students and uses fun, kinetic lessons that engage the students wholly. Class periods are highly educational and abundantly positive. She is empathetic, creative, and extremely knowledgeable in her field of study. Mrs. Ortiz works hard to bond with each student and ensure their expertise with the Spanish language.
Many studies conclude that looping (a teacher staying with a class for multiple grade levels) improves student behavior and grades across subjects. One such study is: "Let's Stay Together: The Effects of Repeat Student-Teacher Matches on Academic Achievement."
It is for these reasons that the students of FLA are fighting to bring their Spanish 1 teacher to Spanish 2 for the 2026-2027 school year.
