Ban highway 8 truck route
Highway 8 should not be designated as a truck route. It creates huge traffic safety concerns, slows traffic and is destroying the highway. There are alternate truck routes close by ie hwy 22, 22X and hwy 1.

This petition is to voice concern over Highway 8 remaining as a designated truck route. Within the past 6 months alone there have been 3 fatality accidents involving semi trailers.The road itself was not structurally designed to carry the weight of these vehicles and is in terrible shape. With respect to the traffic volume on this route on weekends, in particular holiday weekends, there is no doubt that the number of serious accidents involving semi trailers will only increase. With all due respect we request that this matter be taken into serious consideration for change. There are alternate truck routes within several miles far better suited for this type of traffic.
