Two people in upstate New York have been
accused of neglecting a dog to the point of physical injury and disfigurement. Apparently, over the course of a year and a half, they fully abandoned two dogs, and severely starved a third.

However, we know that they locked a third dog in a crate semi-permanently, without a chance to run, stretch, or move - leaving her with physical damage, including inflammation, pain, and injuries to her paws.
Not only did they leave her locked and confined in a cage, but they also refused to provide her with adequate food. As a result of this forced starvation, she went through rapid and dramatic weight loss.
Authorities have since charged the two individuals with aggravated cruelty to animals, overdriving and torturing animals, abandonment, and failing to provide food and water. Regardless of the outcome of the court case though, one thing is clear - they should never, ever be entrusted to care for animals again in the future.
