A beloved cat named Coco is fighting for his life after being shot twice from a moving vehicle in Mastic Beach. The 12-year-old cat survived, but his back legs are now permanently paralyzed. His family is heartbroken, doing everything possible to give him care, including ordering him a wheelchair and therapies.

Police have arrested a man in connection with this horrific act of cruelty, but this person should not be allowed to own animals or or to legally possess firearms again.

Sign the petition to demand a lifetime ban on animal ownership and the revocation of this man's gun license.

Animal cruelty doesn't happen in isolation. Studies show a clear link between violence toward animals and broader threats to public safety. Allowing someone who shot an innocent cat from a moving vehicle to keep access to guns would endanger both animals and people.

Coco's suffering is a reminder that we must protect vulnerable animals, and ensure justice is paired with prevention. Removing both animal ownership rights and gun licenses could prevent future harm.

Sign now to demand Suffolk County officials enact a lifetime animal ownership ban and revoke gun licenses for anyone convicted of such cruelty.
