For more than a decade, Donald Trump has been tearing our country apart, putting wildly unqualified people in charge of critical departments, embracing policies championed by deranged idiots, and transforming America at warp speed into a monument to stupidity.
And Congressional Republicans haven't done a damn thing to stop him.
They kissed his ass. They pretended he wasn't a blithering idiot. They cheered him like drunken monkeys. And they stood by with their balls in a jar by the door while he said and did horrific things.
Why?
Because they were scared of Trump's base. So these so-called "leaders" didn't lead. They became Trump's rubber stamp and let him do all kinds of incredibly stupid and dangerous things.
But now Trump is weaker. His approval has sunk near the low 30s. Republicans up for election can see the political rot spreading, and suddenly some of them want voters to believe they were brave all along.
Please.
They are ducking his events, distancing themselves from his chaos, slapping together ads that make it look like they stood up to him, and doing everything they can to pretend they haven't spent years fluffing him daily.
Nope.
To all these gutless Republican enablers, the ones who chose Trump over country: don't pretend you were profiles in courage when America needed you.
You had years to speak up.
You had years to stop him.
You had years to choose country over cowardice.
You chose Trump.
Now you can leave, go far away, and take your bucket of bullshit with you.
