The Isle of Wight Studio School is set to potentially close. This school is a huge asset to the Island's young people and the businesses to which a good number go on to find employment with.
Our MP Bob Seely has not made any effort to visit the school despite parents pleading with him to help. This petition has been started to implore Mr Seely to get his 'Harrow Educated' posterior out of his constituency office and into our unique school so he may gain a better understanding of what this school has to offer.
Having experienced mainstream secondary schooling, we as parents are able to recognise and appreciate the opportunities on offer which are unique to this Island, along with the quality of education, both academic and vocational and emphasis on personal development. We have witnessed significant improvements in our children both on an academic level, but also in their confidence and enthusiasm for learning, thus wishing all children on the Island to be given the same opportunities and guidance to achieve the best outcomes possible.
As Mr Seely recently said 'We need to give our young people the best future we can. We need to get the message out that you can succeed here, not just on the mainland. Education is critical to improving quality of life, aspiration and opportunity on our Island' Well said Mr Seely, now listen to your constituents and visit our wonderful school so that you may be educated yourself, in what this school can do for the Island.
