The SV Parks Committee worked for at least two years on a plan to dramatically reduce the size of the beautiful SV Dog Park, erect unsightly fencing, and impose new rules on human and canine Park users. The reasons behind the Committee's plan are vague and conclusory.
The Committee presented its proposal to the Board of Directors and received approval of it on August 23, all prior to notifying and receiving feedback from the Park's regular users. Many of these regular users have frequented the Park with their friends, family members and canine companions for a decade or more!
This petition insists that the Committee end all efforts to impose this plan until it has received feedback from affected stakeholders and provided full and fair opportunities for presentation of this feedback. The ultimate goal is a solution that preserves the best characteristics of this fun-filled, meaningful, and uniquely beautiful community gathering space.
