because theres a need for delta airlines to once again provide service to guyana. delta has served the guyana market for 5 yrs. and abruptly pulled out due to different reasons. although guyana has caribbean airlines and the addition of fly jamaica serving the guyana route. those 2 airlines dont have the credibility the name that delta has. a reputable u.s based carrier is needed to serve guyana. from a tourist stand point and for the economic develpoment of the country, u need an airline like delta to provide efficient service to guyana. since deltas pullout caribbean airlines has dominated the market with unreasonable high fares with constant complaints about the service especially to that of the guyanese living in ny and elsewhere who had no other option but to pay the high fares and deal with the connecting through trinidad and other neighboring countries to reach guyana. no disrespect to caribbean airlines they r an established carrier. but lately the amount of complaints that have been placed upon them are too many to ignore. im sure i speak for alot of people that feel that delta airlines could once again make travelling to guyana more enjoyable, because they offered non stop direct flights from ny. now its up to the government and the minister of tourism to keep the interests of the people best at hand. having caribbean airlines, fly jamaica are fine. but having delta airlines serving guyana would definetly increase the econonic growth of guyana with the money the country would generate from tourists and family visiting there loved ones. i know the minister of tourism does recognize the need for a major u.s carrier to serve guyana. its my hope that this petition would allow him to see how many people would love to welcome delta back into the guyana market. what ever has to be done, worked out to reach an viable agreement. is what we are hoping for. bring back delta, we want delta. thank you
