Everyone was upset when they heard about the bear who killed herself and her cub. Everyone was upset when they heard about the workers torturing turkeys. Everyone was upset when the cows at the slaughter house were being killed non-peacefully. However, nobody is upset when they buy a medicine made from bear bile. Nobody is upset when they eat a turkey sandwich. And nobody is upset when they have a beef burger. Why?
Many people think that it's okay to eat animals because they've been 'euthanized' or they 'weren't in any pain when they died.' But when you think about it from a cow's, or any animal's point of view, this is what they would be thinking.
'Vet walks up to animal.'
Animal - Oh, it's probably just another injection/antibiotic. They're going to sedate me and I'll wake up soon!
'Vet euthanises animal.'
This poor creature never wakes up again, just so you can eat a burger, which you don't even need to survive! But this animal gives its life up for you! And we rarely ever think about it! Please, Urge Australia to be more animal friendly, and kill less animals - only as much as we need to. Thank you!
(By the way I am a vegetarian and this is why I feel so strongly about this issue)
