Stop farmers flail mowing hedgerows and chopping down trees - slasher farmers.

Every year farmers slash hedgerows with flail mowers. Their reasons are to stop nesting birds from eating their corn. At the same time they say they are conservationalists and do all they can to protect wild life. Much of it is a farce. Yes they do all they can to allow pheasants, rabbits and other game animals to flourish but what they don't tell you is come the autumn they organise shoots and hunts to kill those same animals. The slashing of hedgerows is just the tip of the iceberg, but it is a start if it can be stopped. In south Lincolnshire some hedgerows are slashed up to 4 times a year, new growth is cut away, leaving unsightly stumps. Trees are chopped down to stop wood pigeons that eat corn from roosting but the removal of hedgerows and trees mean that topsoil is blown away and crops become flooded with extensive rain. Every chink in the chain of life distrupts the balance of nature. Leave nature to its own devices and everyone wins.
