Congress, It's Up To You to Protect Our Voting Rights

This week, the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act . Now, it's up to Congress to protect all Americans' right to vote.

Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act was absolutely vital to protecting all citizens from racist attempts to deny them their vote. Now, SCOTUS has destroyed it.

In the last election, we saw countless attempts to prevent people from voting. North Carolina passed bills preventing early voting. Virginia passed a voter ID bill that would stop 870,000 of its citizens from making it to the polls. Alabama passed a law requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration. All of these were scheduled for review under the Voting Rights Act -- and now they could be used to strip some of the most vulnerable Americans of their right to vote.

Congress may have the chance to save the Voting Rights Act by drawing up a revised version of Section 4. They can't let the rights of millions of Americans slip through their fingers. Tell Congress to save the Voting Rights Act.
