Hunger Shouldn't Hold Kids Back

1 in 5 kids across rural America don't have enough to eat.

Hunger is stunting their development, threatening their education and robbing them of healthy childhoods.

Thankfully, programs like SNAP and WIC help families put nutritious food on the table.

Tell Congress: Fully fund SNAP and WIC. Protect children's futures!

Dear [Elected Official],

1 in 5 kids across rural America are facing food insecurity.

To protect their health and futures, Congress must fully fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).

As one of our nation's most effective hunger-fighting programs, SNAP ensures 42 million people – including 16 million kids – have access to nutritious food. When benefits lapsed last November, families were forced to drive miles to the nearest food pantry, where they waited in long lines for limited choices.

WIC provides fresh fruits and vegetables, health screenings and critical postpartum care to 7 million pregnant and breastfeeding mothers – plus their newborns and toddlers.

Together, these programs keep children fed and thriving. Please, ensure that SNAP and WIC are fully funded in the fight against child hunger!

Sincerely,
