Medicare beneficiaries' access to a physician may be in jeopardy due a planned 8.4% cut in Medicare reimbursements in 2023. If these cuts go into effect, it will severely impede patient access to care due to the forced closure of physician practices.
Tell Congress to protect America's Medicare patients and stop the cuts!
It's clear that Congress must work with the patient and physician communities to develop long-term solutions to the systemic problems with the Medicare physician payment system to preserve patient access. In the meantime, policymakers need to address the immediate problem.
Recently, Representatives Ami Bera, MD (D-CA) and Larry Bucshon, MD (R-IN) introduced H.R. 8800 the "Supporting Medicare Providers Act" to help address the flawed payment system and provide relief from the devastating cuts.
With only a handful of legislative days left this year, now is the time to build on the momentum from H.R. 8800 and demand that Congress take action to stop these devastating Medicare cuts.

Starting on January 1, 2023, Medicare beneficiaries' access to a physician is in jeopardy due a planned 8.4% cut in Medicare reimbursements in 2023. If these cuts go into effect, it will severely impede patient access to care due to the forced closure of physician practices.
Congress must work with the patient and physician communities to develop long-term solutions to the systemic problems with the Medicare physician payment system. In the meantime, policymakers need to address the immediate problem by:
• Preventing the scheduled 4.42 percent payment reduction from going into effect on January 1, 2023.
• Providing financial stability through a baseline positive annual update based on the Medicare Economic Index (MEI) reflecting inflation in practice costs.
• Waiving the statutory PAYGO requirements, as it has done every other time PAYGO cuts have been triggered.
Please show your support for our country's Medicare patients and their physicians by passing legislation that would fix the flawed Medicare physician payment system before these devastating cuts go into effect.
