Support Medical Training to Save Women's Lives

For women living in war-torn regions without access to medical care, complications from pregnancy and childbirth are often a death sentence. In Afghanistan, women have a 1 in 15 chance of dying during childbirth, compared with 1 in 8,000 in industrialized countries.

Fortunately, there is help. International Medical Corps trains women like Rabia from Afghanistan to be midwives in their local communities.

Rabia had always dreamed of becoming a midwife. She wanted to learn how to provide life-saving care to the women and children of her village.

She persevered despite the many obstacles that face Afghani women and enrolled in International Medical Corps' Community Midwife Education program. Now, Rabia proudly serves local women and children in the Khost province of Afghanistan.

Please join us and pledge to learn more about the importance of women like Rabia and support them where we can.
