End Pay-to-Play Politics for Illinois

Washington politicians are beholden to special interests and Mark Kirk, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Illinois, is no different.
During his campaign, Congressman Mark Kirk has accepted:
-- More than $150,000 from the law firm that is making millions representing BP in the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill
-- $2,500 directly from BP and its executives
-- $4,750 from BP's corporate lobbyists
-- $8,000 from Congressman Joe Barton, who said recently that America owes BP an apology, not the other way around.
Democrat Alexi Giannoulias is standing firm against special interests in our government. In his campaign for U.S. Senate, Alexi refuses to accept donations from corporate PACs and federal lobbyists. He won't take their money and he won't vote their way when he's a Senator.
With your help, Alexi will continue to fight for a campaign finance system that levels the playing field and gives a voice to taxpayers. He'll work to make government accountable to people, not to powerful special interests.
Sign the petition to send Mark Kirk a message: It's time that elected officials serve the people of Illinois, not the corporations and special interests!
Dear Congressman Kirk,
You've spent over a decade in Congress, taking money from lobbyists, big banks, and oil companies, voting their way each and every time. It's time you realized that you answer to the people of Illinois, not the special interests that plague Washington politics.
I'm standing with Alexi Giannoulias in November, because you've clearly lost sight of who it is that Illinois' U.S. Senator is meant to serve: Illinois families.
