Ban Lead Bullets - Save Wildlife

While banning lead in paints and gasoline is all well and good, 83,000 tons of lead are still pumped into the environment every year in the form of lead bullets and sinkers.
This unnecessary lead is poisoning countless bald eagles, golden eagles, peregrine falcons, condors, herons and doves. Nontoxic steel, copper and alloy bullets are readily available in all 50 states, and yet organizations like the NRA are fighting the lead bullet ban tooth and nail.
California's Fish and Wildlife Service recently banned lead bullets due to their devastating affects on condors and other wildlife. We need other states to follow suit, and soon the whole country.
Please tell the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to ban lead bullets across the country.

The state of California recently banned the use of lead bullets due to their negative affects on condor populations and other wildlife. When there are so many alternative bullets to be used, there is no reason to keep lead bullets on the market.
Lead poisoning affects countless wildlife, from eagles and falcons to condors, herons and doves. We have already banned lead in paints and gasoline due to its harmful nature. We need to continue to rid our environment of lead, starting with lead bullets.
