End Avoidable Blindness

Right now, 4 out of 5 people who are blind don't need to be. Help us end avoidable blindness.

A routine cataract operation can cost as little as $25 in some developing countries and restores sight, dignity and hope. The impact is enormous. It provides lasting benefits for individuals, their families and whole communities.

The Foundation is inspired by the work of the late Professor Fred Hollows. Fred was a skilled eye surgeon and a social justice activist who was committed to improving the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and to reducing the cost of eye health care and treatment in developing countries.

The Foundation has been a driving force in setting up and running blindness prevention programs in some of the most isolated regions in the world. Today, we run programs in 20 countries throughout Africa, South Asia and South East Asia, and work with our partners in remote Indigenous communities in Australia.

But with 4 out of 5 people needlessly blind, there is still so much work to be done.

Join us and help keep Fred's dream alive: Sign this action today to show your support for a world where no one is needlessly blind.
