Don't Execute Man Who Killed His Childhood Abusers

The trauma Terry Williams endured from a childhood of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse eventually drove him, at the age of 18, to lash out and kill his abusers out of desperation.

At the time of Terry's trial, the jury did not know that the men he killed had been molesting him since he was 13. One of them had even sexually abused him--and not for the first time--the night before Terry struck out.

Misinformed, the jury sentenced Terry to death. In light of Terry's history of violent childhood abuse, the same jury that condemned him says they'd change their original ruling.

This omission of evidence was both unjust and unethical. Though vengeance-based murder is never an acceptable course of action, Terry deserved a fair trial that took all of the facts of the case into account. Even the widow of one of the men Terry killed is asking for his life to be spared.

Please help convince the The Pennsylvania Board of Pardons to reduce Terry's death sentence to life without parole.
Dear Pennsylvania Board of Pardons, Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams, and Governor Tom Corbett,

Terry Williams underwent an incomplete trial after the murders of two men. The jurors were not aware of his history of extreme sexual abuse, nor were they informed that the men he helped kill had both sexually violated him. Further, the jurors did not understand the terms of parole when drawing their verdict.

We urge you to grant Terry Williams clemency after looking at his case again with full disclosure.

Sincerely,
