When Mela and her sibling were found as strays, a local family welcomed them into their home and quickly fell in love.
But when Mela developed an uncomfortable skin condition and a painful ear infection, her family faced a difficult challenge. They wanted to get her the care she needed, but financial constraints made it harder to afford treatment.
That's where the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA) was able to help.
The family brought Mela to HRA and through our community veterinary services. Mela started with some ear treatment and anti-itch medication to help her feel more comfortable. With support from HRA, she could get the care she needed and stay with the family who loves her.
Mela's story is a reminder that access to veterinary care can make all the difference for pets and the people who love them.
