Get Moving for Women's Rights: Run in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon

This year we can all run or walk the distance for women's rights in the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, in our own neighborhoods. With COVID-19, this year's physical distancing race will look different, but you can still virtually join Team Crossroads run for rights.

The COVID-19 pandemic is threatening the rights of women and girls globally. Confinement and quarantine measures aimed at reducing the spread of the virus led to an explosion of domestic violence. With supply chains and markets closed due to lockdowns there are growing food shortages. Many subsistence farmers have been forced to eat their seeds for food, threatening next year's harvest. Women and girls are at risk in developing countries as hunger, unemployment and frustrations grow.

Crossroads International has launched an emergency COVID-19 response with local partners in six countries in Africa to address immediate needs for personal protection equipment, education and prevention; to support women and girls facing increased risk of gender-based violence due to confinement; to address the food security crisis and to support entrepreneurs to retool in the face of collapsing markets.

Will you join us in a run or walk for women's rights? From October 1st, 2020 to October 31st, 2020, help us raise awareness and funds to advance women's and girls' rights in Africa. You can safely physically distance with friends, other supporters, volunteers, staff and thousands of other participants around the world.

SIGN to register and run or walk for women's and girls' rights globally!
