Oregon Needs Climate Action NOW!

We have been let down by Oregon's leaders.

The Clean Energy Jobs bill passed the House with a 36-24 vote, and it had the votes it needed to pass the Senate as well. We were so close to passing bold climate legislation here in Oregon, until the bill was unfairly sacrificed. All to convince Senate Republicans to return to the Capitol and do their job.

Despite the voices of thousands of Oregonians who came to rallies and lobby days; despite the young people who spent day after day at the Capitol speaking to legislators, asking for a healthy climate and a livable future; despite the majority of Oregonians voting for candidates that included climate action and the Clean Energy Jobs bill in their platforms during the election, the voices of Republican Senators—and the corporations who funded their absence—are being held as more important.

But that's not the way the story ends. We're not going to give up on the climate. We need climate action here in Oregon, and we're not going to stop until we succeed.
